And retain more heat. My south facing neighbors don't have to shovel with light to medium snowfall. They usually don't get ice if they shovel with the medium to heavy snowfall. If I don't shovel with any amount of snow I get ice. I also have snow in my yard much longer than the neighbors. And we get flesh melting sun in the backyard during the summer. I will never buy a north facing house again.
