They had a soup that was so good, I've spent hours in the last 5 years looking for a recipe that remotely resembles it.
The family was of Jewish decent from the Ukraine and the soup had pork and potatoes in it. I know, I asked him about that, he said they were not kosher. The closest thing I've seen is caked Solyanka or maybe a green borshct.

Any help would be appreciated.
