The BIG 12 has a history of their top team losing in the NC game. At least three of those losses cost the BIG 12 a certain bid to the BCS championship game. I think the biggest thing keeping the BIG 12 from expanding and having a championship game is fear. Happily, last season the lack of a game cost them and is causing them to rethink.
