For #3...
If your carrier is at&t, my bil gave me these steps. I rarely have signal strength problems in Boise:

ATT - Speed up oneplus one

https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/guide-how-to-make-lte-faster.77304/

Go to the phone dial, type in *#*#4636#*#* and a tab should pop up. Click phone information and scroll down. Click and change the preferred network to LTE/GSM auto (PRL) then click home. YOUR SPEEDS SHOULD BE TWICE AS FAST!!

Also make sure your APN which is located in mobile networks Access Point is selected as Att Phone!! The APN 'ATT Phone' was an option already present when I opened the menu for 'Access Point Names', probably since my SIM card came from an AT&T branded LTE phone. If you do not have this APN, you might want to create it with the following settings:

APN Name: ATT Phone
APN: phone
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: Not set
APN type: default,supl,mms
APN protocol: IPv4
Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO type: None

Not sure what's up with your battery... Mine easily lasts all day with room to spare by the time I plug it in at night.
