If you are going to buy another car consider

a GM product that has the old 3.8L v6. I have owned 3 of them and they are solid. If you want a second opinion talk to ANY mechanic and they will tell you it was the most bullet proof engine GM has ever built. The engine made its way into several cars that you can find in the 2-4K range price wise. They include:

Chevy Impala
Pontiac Boneville
Pontiac Grand Prix
Buick Lesabre
Buick Century
Buick Regal

Even if you think some of these are old person cars (and they are) you should consider them. Not all of them were built with this engine so you have to check. You will see them online listed as having a 3.8L engine or 3800 V6.
