stayed home. But I don't get any fulfillment out of working and I really believe I would be fulfilled (and would just generally be happier) by being an at-home parent. I also think my wife would have been more fulfilled had we reversed roles.
This whole thread is an exercise in "grass is greener" thinking, and I'm sure that contributes for me too. It's just that, for me, the "greener grass" that I see and am envious of is stay-at-home parenting, not some other job.
