Years ago we saw one of the Denny boys drafted by the Bills due to his measurables moreso than his play on the field.
In the case of Weddle, it was more his play on the field than his measurables that made him a high draft pick, whereas his measurables simply told GM's they could be safe in drafting him.
Lots of corners who were so-so college players get drafted if they show they can run a sub-4.4 40. Same with WR's.
I don't believe PoVey's measurables are enough to get him drafted, but they have put him on the radar of NFL scouts.
