First of all....Mayweather will never, ever be considered the greatest ever.
Not a chance. 2nd, anyone who ordered the fight expecting a bloodbath is simply a follower. Anybody who has any knowledge of boxing at all knew this wouldn't be an epic slugfest. 38 and 36 year old 145 lb guys? this needed to happen 5-6 years ago. Also, it was amazing watching Mayweather duck and dodge Pac Man's punches. At 38? Dang he's fast.

I do agree, and have posted earlier that boxing absolutely needs the heavyweight division to find some great fighters. We need more old school old dudes to be involved with and training our heavyweigt boxers. Those guys know how to teach and train.

I also believe we need boxing reform so to speak. We need to change some rules, etc. The purses are also too large as you start nearing the championship bouts. guys literally had to win in the past to earn their living. As you start getting better, the money starts getting better, you fight less, and many guys lose that motivation to be the best for years and years. 100-200 $million? are you kidding me? mi don't know that you can really put limits, especially because HBo and showtime, will pay up. I grew up watching Friday Night Fights. I loved it even though I had no idea who those guys were. Now we have Friday night spelling bee on espn. we habe Ufc hosting fights on spike and reality tv series. we can also relate to many of those ufc fighters and also relate to their ground it out pound it out nearly anything goes style of fighting because we see that in our lives. not real propwr boxing. if we could get back to old school heavyweight prize fighters and could change some rules and have a little more control over e fighters, we could get back to where we were. It remains to be seen though. and I doubt we will ever get back to that. doesn't mean I won't enjoyman overdue championship bout between the two best boxers of their era even if they are nearly over the hill.
