The obvious increase in expenses as a result of paying COA's will really take a toll on all Athletic Departments. Just as it looked like many of the P5 teams would be able to operate without the use of Student Fees, this expense hits and a great portion of Student fees will continue to funnel down to the Student Athletes... instead of directly serving those who PAID the fees.

Lets be clear, BYU Athletics gets a large disbursement from the student Tuition paid. At most schools that would be fees, but at BYU its a disbursement (from Tuition paid) to the Athletic Department. Several MILLION dollars each year.

I love a strong Athletic Department, but its hard to justify putting this subsidy on the backs of the students. Not just at BYU, but everywhere.
