Let me help you:
Batman, in the comics, is a very suspicious person who likes to be prepared for any contingency. It is said that Batman could beat ANYONE with enough time to prepare for the fight. In the "world" that DC is creating in Man of Steel and now the new movie, Superman is a new powerful being from another world. People are starting to worship him. Batman is naturally suspicious. He prepares to fight this new being from another world.

In the comic book The Dark Knight Returns, which takes place in the future after Batman has retired, Superman becomes the lapdog of the President, and Batman comes out of retirement to stop Two Face, who has been "rehabilitated" and released. Batman stops him and then the Joker, and then the leader of a powerful gang. However, he is still a vigilante working outside of the law. Because Gotham has become a high profile place and because Batman is starting to get followers, the President sends Superman to kill Batman.

Batman knows this is coming, so he prepares a kryptonite gas embedded in an arrow shaft, and gives that arrow to a certain Oliver Queen. Queen shoots the arrow at Superman, who catches it, but the gas is released into his lungs, weakening him. Batman then proceeds to beat the living tar out of Superman in one of the greatest battles in comic book history.

This new movie is inspired by that fight, but will not be a literal take on it. It takes Batman's suspicious nature and Superman's newness and sudden cult figure status, and pits them together. Without kryptonite, it is tough to see how Batman will stand a chance against Superman, but I'm sure with Zack Snyder directing, the fight sequence will be fun to watch.
