would be restricted to a bunch of RMs playing D level football and asking the opponents to participate in FHE lessons during half-time.
I really didn't know if we were going to be able to get any nonmembers to come play and we would either have to dumb down our competition or end up with 6-6 records for the rest of time.
We have been surprisingly competitive and have actually brought in some pretty good nonmember talent.
Woulda coulda shoulda, but except for the two Taysom injuries and a strangely crappy defense last year...I think we are closer than I ever thought we would be able to get to being really competitive against good solid teams.
Absent the Heaps disaster, the weird man crush on Riley Nelson and the injuries to Taysom Hill...the results would have been quite a bit different, IMO.
Either way...no way we are anywhere near where we were when Crowton left.
