As much as I presently dislike Gordon Monson columns, and have stopped reading
anything with his byline, I will say that at one time he was a decent writer. Two memorable articles were about Terrence Harvey soon after his death (a little over the top--something like, "God help Terrence Harvey. God help us all.") and about Steve Cleveland soon after his first blue and white game.

I'm not sure what happened--laziness, senility, desperation--but he's certainly turned into a poor writer, at least the last time I checked.
