So if you can't move toward the opponent either directly or obliquely, that
pretty much leaves two options for moving: straight up and down, or backwards at some angle away from the offensive player. Any other movement would pretty much be illegal. Not sure I'm seeing the "proof" here, unless you think that by saying "feet set" they are implying that a vertical movement or a backwards movement would result in a blocking foul?
