I love St. Helens.
When we hiked it, we hiked the side that had blown off.

We hiked in the middle of July and were dressed for July weather. I had prepared for any storms by bringing a light jacket. 4 of us arrived to the top to find the other 3 in our group had been separated from is and that the top of the mountain was a blizzard in July. Place had zero visibility. One of our guys went down a ways to look for them and found them while the 3 of us waited 1.5 hours at the top for them. After about 15 minutes of freezing we dug a hole in the ground for all us to keep us from the wind and snow and Give US a place to huddle For body warmth.

Place can be scary in a storm. Good times. Luckily the others were being slow and didn't lose their way.

We fortunately found the cairns on the way down.
