Have the rotors checked
See if they can be turned rather than replaced. Might be able to save a few bucks.

Once you drop the calipers to change the pads, it's pretty easy to get the rotors off.

Shop the internet for parts. Depends on the car how you go about it. For example, some dealers sell on the internet and many local dealers will match the best price you can find on the net. So you can shop for price on the internet but still walk into the local dealer and buy the parts for the best price. That way you are buying the OEM parts instead of after-market parts at maybe no or little higher cost. Probably better quality parts.

If you can find someone who is familiar with changing pads and rotors get them to give you a hand. Goes a lot easier with an experienced person giving you a little help. Helps with the learning curve. And they might have the tools if you don't.
