My biggest question isn't his medical condition, it is his physical and mental toughness. My son has scoliosis (spelling?). The doctor's did not limit his participation in sports until after his surgery. IIRC they did not allow him to play any contact sports for 18 months after his surgery. Why did Alan only play three minutes at a time? I question if it was really because of his scoliosis. If it was because of poor physical conditioning, that plus the scoliosis might explain why he got no scholarship offers after H.S. ball
