With the kids, Oahu can offer more attractions, Pearl Harbor, PCC,
north shore, Waikiki, etc. I've stayed at Hyatt Place, and it is right near the beach. But if you want laid back and beach time Maui is beautiful. If you've never been start with Oahu and teach your kids some history at Pearl Harbor and PCC, while enjoying the beauty of the islands.
