Not really the extreme minority ...

Based on my posts above and the players listed by Beard Card, I have Kobe at #6 behind MJ, Lebron, Shaq, Duncan, and Hakeem. I could accept Magic as better than Kobe. But either way, looks like my rank of Kobe is right in line with the masses.
