I went through 3 batteries in 18 months, and if the car sat for 48 hours it wouldn't start, even though all the vitals on the alternator looked to be in working order. I checked online and found a guy with the same problem and he finally got fed up and put a new alternator in, and it solved his problem. I replaced mine and the problem went away, except now it's a water pump problem.
