Growing up, my aunt's house was always sparkling clean, and when she wasn't cleaning their house, she was washing their cars, cleaning the driveway/yards/etc. That is all she ever did. I'm talking surgical-level clean. In retrospect, I believe that she was over-compensating for a terrible marriage to a jerky husband (my dad's brother.) It was the one aspect of her life where she could completely control the situation.
