returning kicks. The comparison in athleticism between the two is not even close (nor is there any comparison to Mahe). Smith/Mahe are 5'8"/5'9" guys with great lateral mobility, one of which also had great speed (Smith). Hine is 6'1" and has very stiff hips with okay top end speed. Again, they are completely different players.
If you wanted to argue that Hine should have been playing safety his whole career I might understand your complaint (I'm not sure it would have worked out any better than rb, but you never know).
I appreciate Hine as a very good kick returner (especially by BYU standards) and he seems like a great kid who works hard, but he's not some phenom offensive athlete that has been held back by coaches.
