You like baseball, I think you are in the minority compared to most fans who think it is long.
Bumgarner is a horrible example. He essentially won 3 out of 4 games (yes I know he got a save in game 7, but pitched 5 scoreless innings) his team won in the World Series. That isn't team baseball, that is one guy 3 out of 7 games.
The Diamondbacks series is another example where Randy Johnson won 3 out of the 4 games needed to win. Why did it go 7 games? Well the Yankees had their own pitching studs in Roger Clemens, Mike Mussina, Andy Petite and El Duqe. They almost assuredly had the better TEAM. They didn't have the two best starting pitchers though which is a primary reason why they lost.
