It is right at your 422 mile limit. Shaver Lake is an hour east of Fresno in the Sierra Nevada. The lake is right at a mile high and there is no development except for the Scout camp. It is gorgeous. It is my favorite camp with Camp Easton (Couer d' Alene) a close second and Cherry Valley (Catalina Island) a distant third. I used to live in the Inland Empire Council and didn't really like any of our local camps, including the ones up by Lake Arrowhead.
