I actually OWN the 18"
It will totally handle this crowd. You have have two racks in there. It will easily handle a couple of pork shoulders and a couple pork shoulders will feed 25+.
The argument I can see for the 22" is something long like ribs or something huge like a massive turkey (I've done two 12-15 lb turkeys in the 18" before).
