1. I was surprised how close (relatively) Cincinnati and WV are.
2. How far away both BYU and UCF are away from the rest of the B12.
3. Memphis is closer to the natural B12 footprint than either UCF or BYU, or Cincy and WV for that matter.
If, as some speculate, the B12 takes Cincy, UCF, and Memphis, and BYU as a FB-only member, what would that mean for the conference overall? Would 13 teams work for the non-FB sports? How would divisions be aligned?
I actually really like the scenario of BYU becoming a FB-only member of the B12. It get's them into a P5 conference. It allows them to further establish their credibility as a P5 team. And makes them an even more viable and attractive to the P12 as an all-sports member at some point in the future.
