Don't worry about road trips or data use -- you can download songs to your device to listen without a connection, and you can switch the app to not use data.
One problem, that I've experienced only a tiny bit, is that you really don't "own" the music. If an artist pulls its music from your service of choice (say, Spotify or Apple), then you lose access. It's rare, and it will happen even less as the future progresses, but it can happen.
But seriously, the level of access is unbelievable. It's every new album and every old album (with a few gaps), all available. For someone like me who listens to a lot of music, it's sort of life changing.
