I usually don't agree with Cowturd but...
but in this case, I think he makes a good point. The SEC has been leading the charge to create (basically) an independent league from the NCAA where they can pay student athletes and get rid of the little guy. And everything would be so much easier with 4 major conferences instead of 5. The Big 12 was close to imploding just a few years ago and it's still on shaky ground today. Losing Nebraska, A&M, Mizzou & Colorado were losses that gaining WVU and TCU did not even come close to making up for. Oklahoma & Ok State could go SEC and the Texas schools could easily go to the PAC. Kansas & K-State could easily go the Big 10. ISU would be the only school left out as WVU would jump to the ACC along with Notre Dame who would be required to leave independence in order to be a part of the new division. TV contracts would get worked out so everyone involved was happy and likely making even more money. Everyone else would just stay in FBS including BYU/MWC/AAC/WAC/SWAC. This could really be a reality in 5 years or so and all it will take is the Pac-12 wooing the University of Texas.
