In the past month, there have been a number of fatal crashes in Utah, and it seems that very often we hear that serious injuries or fatalities took place when no seat belts were worn.

Why in the world aren't people wearing seat belts? Seat belts keep passengers from being thrown from the vehicle in roll overs and also keep them in the correct position so that airbags can deploy and work as they are designed.

Some people are misinformed and stupid and in Utah in particular have some libertarian bent against "the government telling them to wear seat belts" so it shouldn't surprise me, but I always wear my seat belt.
