Interesting guy at Panara Bread.
I frequently have a nice quiet breakfast at Panara. The ambiance is pleasant, the breakfasts are good, and there are often groups of women taking a break from the weight loss center nearby. They are quiet and generally keep to themselves.

However, there is a new regular in town. He wears earmuffs with a cord taped to them that lead to a walkie talkie, where it is also attached with tape. The workers obviously know him as "Esquire". He is a well behaved guy who sits quietly with an Etch-a-Sketch in one of the booths.

Each morning he orders a Mac n' Cheese, which isn't on the breakfast menu. They make it in order to avoid the scene that broke out the first time they tried to tell him they don't make it for breakfast. That got a bit out of control and the cops had to be called in. Apparently all parties have been forgiven and moved on.

One of my favorite routines of his is that while waiting for them to prepare his food he constructs an elaborate land-bridge out of chairs that leads from his booth to the counter. It's quite impressive. I think they'd bring him his food, but that would negate the feat of engineering he built.

He's really taken with the ladies. Lots of winks, nods, and grunts. They love him. The weird part though is that the paper napkins go missing while he's there. The staff can't figure it out.

Anyway, he seems like a great human doing the best with what he's got. I hope he sticks around.
