I hate complaining about things beyond my control, but the fact is - the B12 is really, really, really dysfunctional. Point being, BYU is easily more competitive from an athletic perspective than half the teams in the B12, would do more than any other potential addition in terms of eyeballs on TV and backsides in seats, and is, holistically, a better university than B12 average. But if B12 is as dysfunctional as we think it is, I don't think on field performance will matter. BYU makes more sense as an addition than any other team out there in terms of eyeballs and attendance - I get it, the Utah media market may not be what they want to add, but if that is their criteria, then beating up Nebraska won't change their mind.
