You do not want/need to have a car in Paris. Traffic is horrible, parking is

expensive and scarce. A car is more hassle than it is worth in both cities. The subway systems in both London and Paris are very convenient and will get you pretty much anywhere you need to go. The exception will be the WWII sites in other parts of France.
