running game, option, etc, as you point out it seems to be about pace and not about the structure of the plays or the playcalling goals and philosophy.

I'm personally not a big fan. My feeling is that the benefits gained of surprising the other team or make them more tired too often seemed to me like we become frantic or prone to penalties or just have poorly executed plays at a faster pace.
