As a father of 3 primary and one nursery- aged kids here are some of my

suggestions. I know it's nice to make them something that the parents will enjoy but if their kids don't eat it then the parents will end up having to make something for their kids anyway.

Homemade macaroni and cheese
Rolls
Watermelon
Cantaloupe
Pizza
Curry (my kids actually love curry)
Enchiladas

Just to name a few.
