She said her primary wants are genealogy, facebook, and music (I think she means youtube). She wants a laptop so she can do it all in her easy chair. She called me all excited about an ad for the Telikin computer for the elderly. It's linux-based proprietary interface. Hmmm. My first thought was a macbook air.

Questions:
1. Are genealogy apps all web-based? Any trouble running them in linux? Mac?
2. Anyone have experience with a Telikin? I'm skeptical.
3. Is there any avenue that will not leave me suicidal?
