It is, mine is even more high profile of an industry and also similar in that people always think they know what they are talking about and have great ideas. Every time someone contacts me, including close family and friends, with their brilliant ideas 99% of the time it is just annoying and not helpful. It's actually worse when it comes from someone I know and kind of like because that means I have to give them some half hearted response about what they say. If it's someone I don't know or like I just ignore them. So my advice would be not to send the email.
