things a bit, imo. I'm surprised more Oscar winners aren't represented, but I understand why there's not a lot of overlap. I think lists like this may not fully recognize and reward a film for how it impacted or reflected the society and culture at the time of the film's release. For example, Deer Hunter obviously touched on a subject many Americans at the time felt strongly about. I think today's foreign press may discount that aspect of a film whereas Oscar voters at the time didn't.
