Nonsense.
TV revenue has always had a huge role, but it drives ADs, not Presidents. That is why Hale has said ADs supported BYU and Presidents didn't. Hale said that the Presidents are driven by Academics and culture much more than TV and butts in seat.
Liberal prejudice against religious/Mormon positions has changed though, but it is worse not better.
