We've gone a few times with both sides of our family. Last summer we went to the North beach for the first time and I will never go to the south side again (at least as long as we have little kids). The water was shallow for a good 50-75 yards allowing the kids to play in the water. It was a walk out to wave runners/boats, but having the shallow water to play in was a lot of fun for the kids - they were out with little rafts, kayaks..etc.

Don't forget to get some Raspberry shakes!
