It takes 2-3 years longer for good new recruits to contribute. Take Longson as an example. 4-star recruit. Recruited by most of the top football schools. He's now on a mission. Won't play until 2018.
It's more difficult for new coaches at BYU to show immediate results because of missions. It's just a fact.
And I believe the O-line has improved over the last 2 years. It was a dumpster fire 2 years ago. We now have a very solid core of Matthews, Kanuch, Koroma, Johnson and Lapuaho. I hope/expect some of the new recruits to contribute as well. (Nwigwe most likely). Now we have another solid recruit in Sitake Toononosesoehhooho99iiilee.
