We just got back from a trip there.
It is awesome, you will love it. I'd recommend edinburgh for sure. If you have time and are interested in history, a day trip into the Highlands would be nice. Stirling castle is very close to edinburgh and is in a gorgeous setting.
Pretty much everything in Scotland is in a gorgeous setting, though, so you can't go wrong.
