Utah would not be able to get out of the rivalry if BYU had kept the series
close.
The backlash against Utah was pretty strong for not scheduling us, but had they not beaten us four in a row (including 54-10 at our place), and the recent history was 2-2, or even 3-1 in BYU's favor, then they wouldn't have the opportunity to try and marginalize BYU by not playing them.
They would be crushed by fans and media, alike.
Since KWhit absolutely owns Bronco, they don't receive much backlash for not playing us. Can't call a team "scared," that routinely kicks your teeth in.
Just another example of Bronco's failings.
