Is he obstructed? If so, he needs surgery ASAP.
I'm assuming he's had a colonoscopy and has a tissue diagnosis? Needs a CT of thorax/abdomen/pelvis to look for mets. Needs CBC, LFTs, and CEA levels checked.
If he's not obstructed and has no mets, he can meet with his surgeon and plan a surgery for the next week or two, it's not an emergency.
