All I really did was just change my diet - stopped snacking throughout the day,
eat smaller low-calorie options (non-salad...I hate salads), and eat only until I'm full. My appetite has decreased, and so I get fuller quicker now than before, and I don't need to eat as much nor as often as I used to.

I also make sure I get up and move around during the day. I use my fitbit to remind me to get up and move and so I go for a walk every afternoon, play basketball with my son each night, and take the dog for a walk every evening. I'm not much of an exerciser, but I never realized just how inactive I was until I started tracking my steps on my fitbit. I know it's not entirely accurate, but it at least motivates me to do more.

A couple years ago I tried to lose through diet and exercise and it was a lot of work to get to 170. I never could never get lower than that regardless of how hard I tried, and it was pretty difficult to maintain that weight and so I eventually gained back about 12-15 lbs. This time I not only got below the 170 mark, but have continued to lose. I think I should probably go see a doctor just to make sure there's nothing wrong with me. Have a buddy that started working out and ended up losing a bunch of weight. He attributed the weight loss to him working out, but was losing a lot more than he expected or intended. Turned out he had cancer. I don't have the symptoms he had, but the continued to weight loss is a bit concerning to me.
