I have an indoor dog and it looks awesome 5 yrs later. if you go 3/4" pre-finished is the best way to go, I was told that by a flooring installer.

Might I suggest rich mohogany? I hear it has a pleasant scent.

Having an inside dog is definitely a problem for any wood floor.

who's staining it? not you i'm sure. get pre-finished real wood, not veneer.

We used Brazilian Walnut. Very durable with kids and pets.

Save yourself some money and trouble and get an engineered wood floor
