The hunting dog we got like that (spaniel) was extremely high-strung and full of energy. Very loving and liked attention, but was almost neurotic. Left it in the house (when it was half-grown) for a couple of hours. When we got back it had scratched our door deeply and ripped the wood blinds out of the back window. We have had many pets and five dogs (including a part wolf dog). We gave this one away to a farm family that wanted that specific breed and trained them to hunt. It was way too demanding. We had a much better experience with the lab we got next. It was an outdoor dog.
