I'm a little late to this, but I haven't seen this aspect of it discussed. The most interesting part of this interview came close to the end. They were talking about coaches yelling and how Snow is way worse from that perspective than BYU and the wussification of society, etc. Then, PoVey says that he thought the biggest problem was that too many players thought that the answer to their problems would come "from outside of the room." Basically blaming playcalling for their lack of performance and in essence hoping that the scheme be adjusted to them rather than trying to adapt to the system and succeed in it. They didn't work hard enough on the off-field preparation, either. He made the point that he watched KVN and Sorenson and Uani work so hard on film study and the other off-the-field prep, so he thought it was just the way things were supposed to be done.
