IMO the touchscreen is clunky and hard to use...
Also while you can technically change the FOV all you are really doing is cropping the picture, which you could do in post processing. The lens is fixed and does not really zoom in. If you look at the specs you will see that this is true because the narrow field of view has a lower maximum resolution.

These cameras serve a specific niche (recording first person action or other instances were a wide-angle is good like drone photography). They don't work as well as other cameras for recording into things that are any distance off. (e.g. recording the actions of a specific person at some distance over about 10 yards).

There are better options for an all around video camera even if you are looking for something waterproof.

That said I own three GoPros (Hero 3, 3+ and Hero4)
