The Worst Part about the Utah losses to me, is that Utah sucks.
Seriously.

Sorry for this on a Friday.

I think Utah is a better program than BYU today (TODAY, not in the past and not forever) because of the influx on PAC recruiting and money. But if you look at those last 4 losses, I believe Vegas had us favored in all. And why? Because if you looked at all those Utah teams aggregated accomplishments per year (minus 04' and 08') they Utes just weren't very good teams.

2005, BYU was favored at home and surrendered horrid turnovers, including one where Tahi got stripped and it was returned for a TD- it went to OT and BYU lost.
2006- BYU was a FAR, FAR better team going in, and it took a miracle Beck to Harline.
2007- BYU was a better team by all indicators, and it took 4th and 17 Hall to Collie to pull it out.
2010- Utah was not very good, and BYU had the FG blocked at the end. Agony
2011- Favored at home, 6 turnovers, including one in the first minute, we all remember.
2012- Favored (I think) and BYU misses two FG and can't get it into OT.
2013- After a Texas win, BYU cannot move the ball against a very good Utah D - and by this point, I think most BYU fans were thinking the BYU should not be favored.

Like I said, losses are losses. They are part of sports. But for the Cougs to lose these the way they did, to a Utah team that generally seemed decent or mediocre most seasons to come in and play their best game of the season against BYU is the maddening part.
