I grew up as a big fan of BYU sports. Then I started spending time on the BYU campus with friends/relatives as a high school student and I was completely turned off by some of the self righteous people I met. I am sure that part of my reaction was due to my own immaturity, but the self righteousness was real to me. So... I went on a mission and then I went to UofU. I still have loads of respect for BYU and I have several close friends/relatives that are current BYU students.
