I tend to favor keeping the lid on oil exports.
Inclined towards free markets, we must prepare for the prospective international realities in the decades ahead.

When you have a supply of resources that you know will be critical in the future, salt away as much as you can, and use up what you can get from others who may not be so willing to sell to you in the future.

This is not a sentiment driven by environmental concern. i have little sympathy for the extremists in that group who would cause people to suffer for some burdensome pie in the sky solutions to far reaching problems not well understood.

My view is a matter of national security and wise planning for the future. The world will be using more fossil fuels in the 20s and 30s and i would think we'd prefer to strengthen the hand of our posterity, especially when the cost to the current generation would be minimal. It's among the best investments we can make for our children.

This is JMHO and could be wrong.
